GUWAHATI : Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the 400th birth anniversary celebrations of General Lachit Barfukan, the great warrior of the Ahom Empire, in New Delhi this evening. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Lachit Borphukan is a hero for the entire country who always inspires our youth. Lachit Borphukan is also known as Shivaji of the Northeast.
He is known as Shivaji because he had dusted the Mughals many times like Shivaji and defeated them on the battlefield. After the Mughals occupied Guwahati, Lachit, like Shivaji, took him out. Borfuqan saved the whole of South Asia from the Mughals. And Lachit Borphukan has always inspired people to love the country. Who killed his maternal uncle for the country. Such a hero is a matter of pride for our country. Lachit Borphukan is a symbol of our country’s honour and pride. Lachit Borphukan is a symbol of our country’s honour and pride. Shah thanked the Assam government and Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for their efforts to spread the life story of such a hero of the Ahom empire across India. Shah said at a time when no one saw the Mughals with their own eyes, Lachit Borphukan fought a war with them and did not even allow them to enter the Northeast.
The Union Home Minister has called upon the government to publish Pushpak, based on the life of Lachit Borphukan, in every language of the country. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the Pride Day of Independence to inspire the youth, amit mahotsav of independence so that the youth of the country can get inspiration by remembering our freedom fighter. Lachit was known for his passion, who at times defeated the Mughals in battle and also prevented them from entering Guwahati. Lachit Diwas is also celebrated in Assam on this day. Due to this, PM Modi has also congratulated the countrymen on Lachit Diwas today.
