Lachit Borphukan to be remembered always as the crusader against Mughal Invaders; champion of freedom of people: Sarbananda Sonowal
GUWAHATI : The Union Minister of Ports Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal participated in the ongoing celebration of 400th Birth Anniversary of the Great Assamese General Lachit Barphukan at the Plenary session held at the Vigyan Bhawan here today.
The session was also graced by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma along with many dignitaries as well as delegates. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “We are all sons of Bor Asom built by Swargadeo Chaolung Sukapha. With his ideals and the Margdarshan of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, we are committed to build an India with the vision of Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat.
The valour & sacrifice by the great General of Assam, Lachit Barphukan is our constant source of inspiration to work towards the welfare of the people and thwart any unwarranted attempt while we commit ourselves to build a new India during the Amrit Kaal. We will follow the ideal of Bir Lachit Barphukan and work with dedication to build country become Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
