Love Lottery Release Postponed Due to Censor Certificate Delay; Akshay Oberoi–Heli Daruwala Starrer to Now Release on September 25

Mumbai: The theatrical release of Love Lottery, starring Akshay Oberoi and Heli Daruwala, has been pushed ahead by a week due to the delay in receiving its censor certificate. The suspense thriller social drama, which was earlier scheduled to arrive in cinemas on September 18, will now release theatrically on September 25, 2026.

Produced by Kuldeep Bhargava ‘Tushar’ under the Cinema-Ganj Films banner and directed by Arvind Pandey, Love Lottery has been creating curiosity with its subject-driven narrative that combines suspense, courtroom drama and social commentary. The film delves into modern relationships, marriage, betrayal and the legal complications that can emerge from matrimonial disputes, while placing men’s rights at the centre of its dramatic storyline.

The film features Akshay Oberoi and Heli Daruwala in the lead, supported by Kabir Duhan Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Hemant Pandey, Indira Krishnan, Santosh Shukla, Vikramm Sharma, Agni Agyari, Kumar Saurabh, Ashwant Lodhi and Arshdeep Sandhu in key roles.

The story and screenplay have been penned by Ankur Khattri. Navin V. Mishra has handled the cinematography, while the music has been composed by Varun Mishra and Arvind Pandey. The film has been edited by Prakash Jha.

Rather than presenting its subject as a straightforward courtroom conflict, Love Lottery attempts to explore the emotional, social and legal dimensions of relationships, including marriage, betrayal, alimony and matrimonial disputes. The film also raises questions around the need for greater awareness and balance when it comes to rights and legal proceedings within relationships.

With the new release date locked for September 25, the makers are now gearing up for the film’s theatrical rollout and are hopeful that audiences will connect with its unconventional subject, suspense-driven narrative and socially relevant theme.
