Lt General Ranbir Singh interacts with members of 15th Finance Commission in Eastern Ladakh

Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command interacted with members of the 15th Finance Commission in Eastern Ladakh on Monday.

Lt Gen Ranbir Singh apprised the members about the unique challenges faced by the forces in the Ladakh Sector.

The 15th Finance Commission under the Chairmanship of N K Singh visited field formations in Northern Command, to have first-hand knowledge about the challenges faced by the Indian Army under extreme terrain and altitude conditions.

Amongst its many charters, the Finance Commission is also mandated to take stock of the requirements of the Armed Forces and assess the financial outlay required to meet the operational needs in terms of roads, infrastructure, weapons and equipment.

Earlier, Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh,  accompanied by Lieutenant General Y K Joshi, General Officer Commanding, Fire & Fury Corps visited forward locations in Eastern Ladakh.

Later in the day, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh had a meeting with prominent members of the civil society. He discussed issues related to civic developments post declaration of Ladakh as an Union Territory with former Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan P Stobdan and first Vice-Chancellor of Ladakh University C Phonsog.

Lt Gen Ranbir Singh assured the full support of Northern Command in making the UT of Ladakh a success story and a model for others to emulate.
