Bengaluru : It is payback time for the alumnus of Mahila Seva Samaja, a century-old, legacy institution in South Bengaluru. The institution known for its commitment to women’s education and empowerment is strengthening its academic and extracurricular programmes with active support from its alumni.
A key initiative is the introduction of innovative science experimentation kits, designed by SciKraft to make classroom learning more hands-on and engaging. The 1974 SSLC batch along with other alumni presented the kits to their alma mater as a gesture of gratitude while commemorating the golden jubilee of their graduation. A special event on Wednesday brought together educators, scientists, alumni and old memories.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. H. S. Nagaraja, Chief Mentor, Prayoga Institute of Education Research emphsised that science is best understood when children experience it for themselves. Hands-on experimentation turns curiosity into learning and helps concepts stay with students for life. Dr. B. R. Guruprasad, Director, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium noted that modern science education must go beyond textbooks and encourage students to ask question, explore and discover.
As part of this effort, the school has introduced a new Astronomy class along with scholarships for academic fees, professional courses, music, providing students with wider opportunities for learning.
