Major rail accident averted in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh

A major rail accident was averted in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, this morning. Fire broke out in the B-1 coach of the Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (Train No. 12431). The incident took place between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot stations in the Kota division at around 5.20 am. Ratlam Railway Division’s Public Relations Officer Mukesh Kumar informed that there has been no casualty in this incident. Railway officials responded quickly. The power supply was cut immediately. The affected B-1 coach was detached from the train. All passengers in the coach were safely evacuated. No passenger or railway staff was injured. Some trains have been affected due to this incident. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
