Malabar Gold & Diamonds Extends Scholarship Support to 2,800+ Students in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada : Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world’s fifth-largest retail jewellery group and a responsible jewellery brand, has announced CSR initiatives worth ₹200 crore for the financial year 2026–27, aimed at supporting social initiatives across India. As part of this commitment, the company conducted its Andhra Pradesh Scholarship Programme in Vijayawada, extending educational support to 2,800 students across the state with a total allocation of ₹2.52 crore. The programme forms part of the Group’s ongoing CSR focus on education, under which ₹30 crore has been earmarked to provide scholarships to 33,000 girl students during FY 2025–26.

The event was held at Thummalapalli Kalakshethram, Vijayawada, in the presence of Smt. Gummidi Sandhya Rani, Hon’ble Minister for Women, Child Welfare and Tribal Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Dr. S. Padmaja, Principal, Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala. Malabar Gold & Diamonds was represented by Mr. Siraj P.K., Head – Retail Operations (Rest of India), Mr. Shareej K, Zonal Head – Hyderabad, Mr. Nikhil Chandran, Zonal Head – Central Andhra & Rayal Seema, and Mr. Rakesh Kumar K., Deputy Head – Marketing (AP & TS), Mr. Arjun M, Showroom Head, Vijayawada, Mr. Nadeer, Dy. Showroom Head, Guntur along with members of the local community.

The Andhra Pradesh scholarship distribution is part of Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ long-running education support programme implemented through the Malabar Charitable Trust. At the national level, the scholarship initiative has supported over 1,15,000 girl students since inception. This year, the Group plans to distribute 33,000 scholarships across multiple states, with education continuing to remain a key focus area within its CSR framework.

As part of its broader CSR plan for FY 2026–27, Malabar Gold & Diamonds will implement 15 major initiatives across more than 3,000 locations in 19 states, expected to benefit over 2 lakh people. Education remains a significant focus area, with ₹114 crore allocated towards initiatives such as national scholarship programmes for girls and micro-learning centres for street children, all implemented through the Malabar Charitable Trust.

In Andhra Pradesh, Malabar Gold & Diamonds has so far supported 15,626 scholarships, with a cumulative spend of ₹7,96,47,000. The current year’s allocation of ₹2.52 crore for 2,800 students builds on this sustained effort to improve access to education for students from economically challenged backgrounds.

Commenting on the initiative, M. P. Ahammad, Chairman, Malabar Group, said, “Scholarship support has remained one of our most consistent social commitments because education has the ability to shape long-term outcomes for individuals and communities. In Andhra Pradesh, this programme is intended to support students who have the potential to succeed but require financial assistance to continue their studies.”

 Malabar Group’s CSR activities extend beyond scholarships and include initiatives in hunger eradication, healthcare, housing, women empowerment, and environmental protection. For FY 2026–27, the Group has committed ₹200 crore towards CSR projects across more than 3,000 locations in 19 states, with programmes expected to benefit over 2 lakh people. Since inception, these initiatives have positively impacted the lives of more than 1.8 million people.

With the Andhra Pradesh Scholarship Programme in Vijayawada, Malabar Gold & Diamonds continues to strengthen its education-led CSR efforts in the state, ensuring structured and consistent support for students across Andhra Pradesh.
