New Delhi: Manovikas Charitable Society, a civil society organization to successfully help those with intellectual and developmental disabilities recently celebrated the 50th episode of ‘Mashavara’, online live consultation for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. This Golden Jubilee episode organized on 14th October 2020 witnessed the presence of 500 Rehabilitation Experts, Eminent Leaders, Vice-Chancellor, Principles from Universities and Colleges, Secretaries and Joint Secretary Level Officer, Disability Commissioners and Family and Community of Persons with Disabilities.
Mashvara is one of the virtual programs initiated byManovikas Family to connect with the students with disabilities and their families during the COVID 19 pandemic. The platform provides help, support and guides them during this isolation. It is open exclusively for children, adults with a disability. The Golden Jubilee Episode of Mashavara.
Dr Nimesh G Desai, President Manovikas welcomed all the guests, chief guests and participants, and shared heartfelt gratitude towards them for the success of Mashvara. He also spoke about the Mental Health week and the Collaboration of IHBAS, and Manovikas Charitable Society. Special Guest Amit Chaturvedi, Regional Director of IGNOU Noida addressed the audience on the golden jubilee episode. He thanked everyone for inviting him to be a part of this celebration. He also applauded the initiative of a great online platform and the hard work of the entire Mashvara team.
During the celebration, many participants came forward and presented their views on Mashvara’s episodes and how each session helped them or their family come through the hard phase during the lockdown. To induce excitement among the audience and a small quiz was organized. The winners and volunteers were awarded for their efforts.
The episode saw many special guests like Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi – Indian politician and a member of Bharatiya Janata Party, Padamshree Dr Uma Tuli – Indian social worker, educationist, and the founder of Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust, Ms Ira Singhal IAS, Joint Director, Department of Women and Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi, Ms Shakuntala D. Gamlin – Secretary, DEPwD cum Chief Commissioner for PwDs, Dr Rashmi Singh, IAS,Director,WCD & Social Welfare Dept. ,Govt of NCT of Delhi,Dr Himanshu Das – Director, NIEPMD, Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe –Chairman, AICTE among others.Dr Alok mentioned that the PIDD candidates from Manovikas are pursuing the Skill programme certified by AICTE and thank Dr Anil Sahasrabudhefor all the support and blessings.
The event got a musical touch with Mr Debabrata Mukherjee’s performance. The professional singer was introduced as one of the favourite singers of Manovikas Kids and participants of Manbhavan. He entertained the audience with beautiful songs ‘Yeh Shaam Mastani’ and ‘Ruk Jana NahinTu Kahin Haar Ke’.
In the end, Mr J.C. Gupta, Advisor of Manovikas Charitable Society gave Vote of thanks to all who came to be a part of this grand episode. The celebration concluded with theNational Anthem.
