Scholarships extended to single girl children, first-generation graduates from Rayalaseema, economically disadvantaged students, sports achievers, children of ex-servicemen and other eligible categories

Tirupati, 24th August 2026: Mohan Babu University (MBU), one of the largest multidisciplinary universities, has strengthened its commitment to making quality higher education more accessible through its comprehensive scholarship policy for the academic year 2026-27. The policy offers scholarships across merit-based, need-based, community merit and talent-based categories, recognising academic excellence while extending opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds.

The scholarship framework covers a range of categories, including single girl children, children of ex-servicemen and Indian Armed Forces personnel, students from rural communities within a 50-km radius of the University, alumni, and first-generation graduates from the Rayalaseema region. Through these provisions, MBU seeks to support students who demonstrate academic potential while also recognising their individual circumstances and achievements.

The University also recognises exceptional sporting talent through its talent-based scholarship programme. Students who have won medals at the Olympics, Commonwealth, Asian or South Asian Games are eligible for a 100% scholarship, while national- and state-level sporting achievements qualify for scholarships of 50% and 25%, respectively.

For engineering undergraduate programmes, JEE Main candidates can receive scholarships of up to 100% on tuition fees, with a 75% scholarship for those securing 95–97.99 percentile. MBU also offers scholarships through MBUCET and APEAPCET, with benefits linked to entrance-test performance and qualifying examination scores. For non-engineering undergraduate programmes, students scoring above 95% in their qualifying examinations are eligible for a 35% scholarship, while those securing 90% to 95% can receive 25% and those scoring 85% to 89.99% can receive 10%.

The University has also commenced its induction programme for B.Tech programmes, marking the beginning of the academic journey for the incoming cohort. More than 1,200 students have already joined the first round of the B.Tech induction programme, reflecting strong student interest and momentum for the new academic year. The induction programme is designed to help students transition into university life while familiarising them with the academic environment, learning opportunities, campus facilities and broader student experience at MBU.

Speaking on the announcement, Vinay Maheshwari, ED and Trustee, Mohan Babu University, said, “At Mohan Babu University, we believe that access to quality education should be determined by a student’s potential and determination, not their financial circumstances. Our scholarship programme is designed to recognise merit, support students from diverse backgrounds and ensure that financial constraints do not prevent deserving students from pursuing higher education. As universities, we have a responsibility to create opportunities that enable talent to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.”

The scholarship programme is part of MBU’s broader focus on student development and empowerment. The University’s efforts include entrepreneurship, skill development and industry exposure, aimed at providing students with opportunities to build practical capabilities and prepare for their careers alongside their academic journey.

By combining financial assistance with opportunities for learning, exposure and skill development, the University continues to work towards enabling students to realise their potential and build meaningful careers.
