Men’s Hockey World Cup: Australia to take on England, while Ireland to face China in the two Group-B matches

In the Men’s Hockey World Cup, two-time defending champions Australia will take on England, while Ireland will face China in the two Group-B matches at Bhubaneswar today. The Australia-England fixture will be played at 5 PM, while the Ireland-China game will begin at 7 PM.

All the four teams in the group have played a game each, so far. Australia is at the top, followed by England at the second spot, China at third and Ireland at the bottom.

Hosts India has played two games and they are at the top of Pool-C, with Belgium second, Canada third and South Africa fourth. India will play their third and final group match against Canada on Saturday, with Belgium facing South Africa.

Last evening, in Pool-A, Spain and France played out a 1-1 draw, while Argentina defeated New Zealand, 3-0.

The top team in each pool at the end of the group stage will book a place in the quarter-finals. To determine the remaining four last-8 berths, cross-over matches will be played between the second and third-placed teams of each group.
