Starting this eve of Independence Day, Milaap is introducing a 0% platform fee for the upcoming festive season. During this time, Milaap’s free platform will make it easy for more people to get the direct help they deserve, as quickly as possible.

“In the past few months, as the crisis of the COVID pandemic unfolded, we have witnessed an unprecedented wave of generosity from people. Thousands raised funds on Milaap to help lakhs of people in distress. We made Milaap free for all relief related fundraisers as a token of gratitude. Therefore, it made perfect sense for extending this 0% fee to all fundraisers, in the upcoming festive season,” said Mayukh Choudhury, Co-Founder and CEO of Milaap.

Choudhury added, “10 years into our journey, we are taking the belief in our community to the next level. With this 0% platform fee, we will rely on voluntary tips from our donors to help with the costs associated with providing our best-in-class customer service, trust & safety protections, and social fundraising technology.”

Milaap puts highest priority in users’ success and security in order to make online fundraising easier, faster, and more trusted. Milaap will do what works best for its donor community of more than 30 Lakh while continuing to provide the best experience, support and product for the fundraisers.

This 0% Milaap platform fundraising fees will be applicable to all fundraisers, which had a 5% platform fee for fundraising: personal causes and charitable organizations alike.

So far, Hyderabad fundraisers have collectively raised more than 74 Crores. Around 90% of the funds were generated for medical causes.

“We did a fundraiser with Milaap for the construction of our animals’ sanctuary and we were able to raise the required funds in a month. Thanks to Milaap, Hyderabad has its first animal sanctuary in place. The entire process was very smooth from making the video to transfer of funds. Milaap is the only platform which charges the least platform fees. A platform like Milaap is a blessing for people who want to do social service.” said Zabi Khan, Animal Activist who is Padma Shree nominee and UN awardee.

“Liver transplants are highly successful procedures that have emerged as a promising life-saving solution, especially for children. Online crowdfunding platform like Milaap can be quite helpful for specialized procedures like this. It addresses financial constraints and gives every person a chance to access the best treatment for their loved ones.” said Dr. Manish C Varma, HOD, Liver Transplant Department, Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

“Doctors informed me that my son Naga Raju’s liver disease was at its end-stage and transplant operation is the only way to save him. I am a daily wage labourer with low income and I am already taking care of my husband who is paralysed. Gathering lakhs of rupees is not possible for me. Dr Prashanth Bachina sir from Rainbow Hospital suggested us to do a crowdfunding campaign with Milaap. With the help of crowdfunding, I could raise Rs. 23 Lakhs and saved my son.” said Bhoodevi. Dr. Prashanth Bachina helped around 150 poor families to fundraise for their loved ones.
