Hyderabad : Special Handloom Marketing Event – 2026 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and grandeur at Kamma Sangam, Ameerpet, marking the beginning of a 8 days -long celebration of India’s handloom excellence.

Sri Tummala Nageshwar rao, Minister for Agricultural, Marketing, Cooperation and Handlooms and textiles, Government of Telangana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, inaugurating the festival and commending the efforts of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, for creating a platform that honours the craftsmanship of India’s weavers. In his address, he highlighted the State Government’s steadfast commitment to promoting and preserving India’s handloom legacy while encouraging artisans to embrace innovation and sustainability in their craft. He lauded the festival’s role in celebrating traditional artistry and empowering handloom communities across the nation, inspiring both artisans and visitors alike.

The festival brings together various handloom weavers and handicraft artisans from various states of India, presenting an exquisite range of sarees and textiles that reflect the country’s rich weaving heritage. Visitors are experiencing diverse collections including Banarasi Sarees from Uttar Pradesh, Kalamkari and Cotton Butta Sarees from Andhra Pradesh, Patola Sarees from Gujarat, Chanderi Sarees from Madhya Pradesh, Paithani Sarees from Maharashtra, and Pochampally Ikat Sarees & Gollabhama Sarees from Telangana, among others.

Beyond its stunning displays, the Special Handloom Marketing Event – 2026 serves as a dynamic platform for cultural exchange — connecting visitors directly with weavers, promoting sustainable fashion, and fostering appreciation for India’s textile traditions.
