MP: Polling preparations for Assembly by-elections complete

Bhopal: Preparations for the polling for Assembly by-elections is complete. Voting    will begin from  7 am and will continue till  6 pm on November 3 for the  28 assembly constituencies of 19 districts of the state. Polling parties that were sent along with voting material have reached the polling stations.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Shri Arun Kumar Tomar informed that polling in the by election will be held at total 9 thousand 361 polling stations on November 3. The counting of votes will be done on November 10th at the respective constituencies / district headquarters. A total of 355 candidates are contesting the by-election. For polling, 13 thousand 115 ballot units, 13 thousand 115 control units and 14 thousand 50 VVPATs have been made available in the districts. Voting slips have been provided to voters by the Commission.

A mock poll will be held in the presence of polling agents of the candidates 90 minutes before polling on the day of polling. All the candidates have been appealed to send their agents in the mock poll. Similar Polling teams have been arranged accordingly for 9 thousand 361 polling stations in the by-election. Also 30 percent polling teams have been kept as reserves.

Tight security arrangements have been ensured. Officers have been empowered as special executive magistrates. Police, magistrates, mobile teams have been deployed. All arrangements for prevention from Covid-19 have been ensured. After voting, the EVMs will be brought to the strong room. EVM machines will be videographed and sealed in the presence of a central observer.

The security arrangements of the strong room will be handed over to CRPF. CCTV, videography arrangement will be made near the strong room. No outsider will be able to enter the area.
