Guwahati: Ma Kamakhya is an important Hindu tantric goddess who developed in the Himalayan hills. The country’s renowned industrialist and Reliance Company president Mukesh Ambani has provided 20 kilos of gold to decorate the dome of the Kamakhya temple. About three months ago, Mukesh Ambani approached the Kamakhya Temple Management Committee. Only then did he send this gold to the Shakti Bench Kamakhya temple from Mumbai with tight security. The former Reliance Industry of Durga Puja has started decorating the temple. Due to which the security of the temple has now been very stringent as compared to Puri.
Meanwhile, Reliance Industries Limited has sent its engineers and artisans to complete the project, which is being overseen by Reliance Jewels. The temple’s Bore Doloi, Mohit Chandra Sarma, told the reporter that the copper lining over the already existing stone pitcher has been completed. He said if the weather conditions grow, gold plating is likely to be completed before Diwali. “We are hoping that the Ambani couple will visit the temple after the completion of the project. However, we have not yet received any official information about his visit. After decorating the main gubandh of the Kamakhya temple with gold, the temple would be illuminated in a new form, which is now awaited by all devotees. It is very important to mention that the place where the Kamakhya Shaktipeeth is located is also called Kamrup. In 51 benches, the Kamakhya bench is also addressed in the name of Mahabench.
