Mumbai Emerges as a Global Tooling Hub: Technology Takes Center Stage at DMI 2026

Mumbai (Anil Bedag): The ongoing Die & Mould India International Exhibition at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai is not just an exhibition, but a glimpse into the future of India’s tooling industry. Organized by TAGMA India, the event has brought together over 350 exhibitors showcasing advanced technologies such as CNC, automation, and additive manufacturing.

During an interaction, TAGMA India President Devaraya M. Sheregar said, “This is not just an exhibition, but a platform for partnerships and new ideas, where the direction of the industry is shaped.” Meanwhile, Manoj Kolhatkar, speaking in the context of the auto sector, highlighted, “With India’s growing manufacturing capacity, the current 35% import dependency presents a significant opportunity.”

F.R. Singhvi emphasized the importance of skill development, stating, “Skilled human resources are the true strength of the industry.”

DMI 2026 is emerging as a strong step toward making India a global tooling hub, accelerating the ‘Make in India’ initiative through innovation, skill development, and collaboration.
