National Science day celebrated at Bodoland University

Kokrajhar: Commemorating the celebration of ‘Ramen Effect’ by C.V Raman and to popularize science education & to inculcate the scientific  temperament among students of various groups (from  schools students  to Ph.D scholars), parents and different stakeholders, the National Science Day, 2021 was celebrated at Bodoland University in Kokrajhar.

Organized jointly by eight  departments  under Faculty of Science and Technology Bodoland University – Zoology, Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science and Technology, Biotechnology and Geography with the co-sponsorship of NTPC(Bongaigaon), Indian Oil (Bongaigaon), SBI (Balagaon Branch), Planters and Zenith India, the two day programme (28th February to  1st March, 2021) was celebrated in a befitting on the theme of 2021 of National Science Day (Future of STI: Impact on Education, skill and Work)..

Various competitions like Drawing & essay writing competition among schools students, Science model and poster presentation among schools students, UG & PG students of College and University, Quiz competition among schools students, UG and PG students of College and University was organized during the two days programme.

On the first day a plantation programme was held where Vice Chancellor, Bodoland University Prof.Laishram Ladu Singh and AGM, NTPC, Bongaigaon Anil Kumar Chawla) took active part in the plantation. Later a Brainstorming and Motivational Session was taken by Vice Chancellor, Bodoland University Prof.Laishram Ladu Singhand Anil kumar Chawla (Additional General  Manager-Human Resource, NTPC).

On the second day a Quiz was conducted among the UG & PG students by Quiz Master Nayanjyoti Borah & team, followed by a plenary session where welcome address was delivered by Vice Chancellor, Bodoland University Prof. Laishram Ladu Singh. BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro and environmentalist Padmashree Awardee Jadav Molai Payeng attended the function as guesta.

In his speech, the BTR chief Pramod Boro emphasized the importance of Science education in our day to day activity of life and urged the young school students to become future scientists of India.

Padmashree Awardee Jadav Molai Payeng motivated ignited young minds emphasizing on the role of plants and plantation on human life.
