National Technology Day Quote from Sumanth Donthi, Founder & Director, ETPL and Chief Strategy Officer, Emmvee Group

“Over the next five years, I believe India will witness a fundamental behavioural shift driven by the democratization of intelligence and decision-making through AI. Today, advanced operational capabilities and data-driven decision-making are largely concentrated within large enterprises. AI has the potential to completely change that. Small and medium businesses across India will increasingly be able to operate with the sophistication, efficiency, and responsiveness that was once only possible for large corporations.

What is particularly interesting is that we are moving beyond the race for “more technology” and toward “better technology” — systems that are simpler, more intuitive, and built around how people actually live and work. On the consumer side, expectations will evolve just as rapidly. Personalisation will no longer feel premium; it will become the baseline. Whether in travel, healthcare, finance, or commerce, people will increasingly expect services that understand their preferences, adapt in real time, and reduce friction in everyday life.

But the biggest shift will not be technological. It will be psychological. India will gradually move from seeing technology as something complicated or intimidating to seeing it as something naturally embedded into daily life. The most impactful technology is usually invisible — it simply works in the background, quietly improving experiences, decisions, and productivity.

When technology stops feeling like a tool people need to “manage” and starts feeling like an effortless extension of daily life, that is when real transformation begins.”
