New Delhi: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has asked all States and Union Territories to upload data of children who have lost either one or both parents to COVID-19 on its ‘Bal Swaraj’ portal. Bal Swaraj is an online tracking portal of the NCPCR for children in need of care and protection.
NCPCR in a letter written to all the States and Union Territories has informed that in view of the current situation of COVID-19, it has extended the use of the portal for tracking children to also include details of kids who have lost either one or both their parents due to COVID. It said, a link under the name of ‘Covid Care’ on the Bal Swaraj portal for filling of data of such children by the officer or department concerned has been added to facilitate the collection of information.
