The National Commission for Women took suo-motu cognizance of media reports of the gang rape of a woman by three persons in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
It has urged DGP, Rajasthan to ensure swift and speedy investigation in the matter.
In a release, the NCW said, it is seriously concerned about the recent rise in heinous crimes against women in Rajasthan despite the enactment of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 2013.
The Commission said it may be apprised about any action taken in the matter at the earliest.
