Haflong: As a part of corporate social responsibility, NEEPCO (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited Company) donated a morgue van to the District Administration of Dima Hasao. Paul Barua, Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao received the mortuary van on behalf of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) from Debotosh Bhattacharjee, Chief General Manager(E/M), NEEPCO at the premise of the DC office, Haflong on wednesday.
Extending his appreciation towards the corporation officials, DC Dima Hasao Paul Baruah said that such an act will benefit the people of this district at large especially during the Covid -19 pandemic. He referred about the problems faced by family of the COVID-19 deceased in transportation of the dead body from hospital to the crematorium; DC Barua lauded NEEPCO for helping and assisting the community by extending such philanthropic donation.
The vehicle was handed over to DC in presence of DPO, DDMA Riki Phukan by the Chief General Manager (E/M), NEEPCO along with NEEPCO officials A.K .Shaw, Dy. General Manager (F), R. Changkakoti, Dy. General Manager (HR).
