Union Government has no proposal to conduct a special recruitment drive to fill up the existing vacancies in post offices across the country.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Communications, Sanjay Dhotre said that services offered by post offices have not deteriorated in spite of the shortfall in staff strength.

He said, the vacant posts are being manned by appropriately redeploying the available staff, to ensure that postal services are not affected.

The Minister said, filling of vacant posts is a continuous process and is being done regularly by holding Departmental Promotion Committee, Departmental Examination and direct recruitment through Staff Selection Commission.
