Guwahati: Sports Ministers from across the country have been held at the North Eastern state of Manipur. The national conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his address through video conferencing. Sports Ministers from different states of the country have participated in the event. Expressing great happiness while addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that this year the conference of sports ministers of the country, this meditation camp is being held on the soil of Manipur. Pm Modi also praised the north-eastern state and said that many players have increased the glory of the tricolor by coming out of here, winning medals for the country. The Northeast and Manipur have been instrumental in furthering the country’s sporting tradition. Indigenous sports like Sagol Kangzai, Thang-Ta, Yubi Lakpi, Mukna and Hiyang Tannaba are very attractive in themselves. For example, when we look at The O-Lavbi of Manipur, we get a glimpse of Kabaddi in it. The Hiang Tannaba here is reminiscent of the boat race of Kerala. Manipur also has a historical association with polo. That is, the way the North-East adds new colors to the cultural diversity of the country. In the same way, it also gives a new dimension to the sports diversity of the country. Pm Modi has expressed hope that sports ministers from all over the country will learn a lot from Manipur. He expressed confidence that the affection and hospitality of the people of Manipur will make your stay more enjoyable. He said that any meditation camp starts with contemplation, proceeds with meditation and ends with implementation. Therefore, in this meditation camp, you have to discuss the future goals, as well as review the previous conference. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled that earlier when we met in Kevadia in 2022, many important issues were discussed. It was agreed to prepare a road map keeping the future in mind and create an ecosystem for the betterment of sports.
