NRAI Kolkata Brings Restaurants and West Bengal Fire & Emergency Services Together to Address Fire Safety Compliance
Kolkata : The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) Kolkata Chapter, in collaboration with the West Bengal Fire & Emergency Services Department, is organising Fire Safety Connect 2026 on October 5, bringing restaurant operators and senior Fire Department officials together for a direct dialogue on fire safety compliance.
The initiative will provide NRAI members with an opportunity to discuss specific concerns around pending fire safety and NOC matters, renewals, documentation, applications and other compliance-related requirements directly with the concerned officials. Through one-on-one discussions, members can seek clarity on their individual cases and understand the requirements and way forward.
Piyush Kankaria, Chapter Head, National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) Kolkata Chapter, said, “Fire safety is an important responsibility for every restaurant, and the industry remains committed to complying with all prescribed requirements. At the same time, restaurant operators may have specific questions around renewals, documentation or other compliance matters that require clarity. Fire Safety Connect is an effort to create a direct channel for members to take up these concerns with the Fire Department, understand the requirements and seek clarity on the way forward. We believe regular dialogue between the industry and authorities can help make compliance processes clearer and smoother for restaurant businesses.”
The initiative is part of NRAI Kolkata’s efforts to facilitate constructive engagement between the restaurant industry and government authorities on issues that impact the ease of doing business. By bringing the two sides together, Fire Safety Connect aims to help restaurant operators better understand regulatory requirements and navigate compliance-related matters.
Fire Safety Connect 2026 will be held on October 5, 2026, at 2:45 PM at Desi Lane, 3rd Floor, Metro Cinema, Esplanade, Kolkata, with restaurant operators and senior officials from the West Bengal Fire & Emergency Services Department participating in the discussions.
