Kokrajhar: The National Thermal Power station (NTPC) Bongaigaon situated at Salakati in Kokrajhar district under the aegis of CSR- CD programme donated a community toilet at Dholmara Community Kokrajhar constructed at a cost of over Rs. 22.44 lakhs on Sunday.
Rakesh Kumar, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon inaugurated the community toilet and handed over the keys to the President, Dholmara market. Kumar appreciated the efforts of CSR and spoke on the importance of hygiene and highlighted necessary precautions on the ongoing Jan Andolan against COVID 19.
T Ravinder, GM (Operations and Maintenance), R. Panda GM(Maintenance), D.P Patra, GM(Operations), Arunasish Das, AGM(Projects), A.K. Chawla, AGM(HR), Bhaskar Gupta, DGM(HR), Sandhip Debbarma, Manager (CSR) and other officials of NTPC Bongaigaon & Dholmara market President & committee members were present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention that the community toilet was requested by the local community to NTPC to facilitate the people of the area. The community facility has been constructed by PWD Deptt, Kokrajhar on deposit work basis by NTPC. The community toilet has provisions for altogether eight toilets for NTPC for gents and ladies. NTPC Bongaigaon had recently donated a community toilet at Salakati Market, Kokrajhar at a cost of Rs. 23.80 lakhs.
