OFFICIAL VISIT OF MEMBER, NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR SAFAI KARAMCHARIS TO THIRUVANANTHAPURAM DIVISION

 Thiruvananthapuram : Member of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK), Dr. P.P. Vava, arrived on an official visit to Thiruvananthapuram Division, Southern Railway today(10th March, 2023). A meeting was organised for the interaction of the commission with contract sanitation workers of Thiruvananthapuram and Kochuveli. The Hon’ble Member explained about the schemes introduced by the Government of India for the welfare and upliftment of Safai Karamcharis and their families. He also reviewed the implementation of MS Act 2013 (Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013). Shri Murali Krishna, Labour Enforcement Officer accompanied the Hon’ble Member.

In his welcome address, Shri S.M Sharma, Divisional Railway Manager mentioned about the role of the safai karamcharis in creating customer satisfaction. Shri M Vijayakumar, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Lipin Raj, Sr.Divisional Personnel Officer, Shri Gokul S. V, Divisional Environmental and Housekeeping Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division were present in the meeting.
