On the occasion of National Press Day, ICICI Bank felicitates two Prominent journalists from the media world of Assam

   Guwahati : National Press Day is celebrated across the country as well as in Assam today. On this occasion, on behalf of ICICI Bank, two prominent journalist intellectuals of Assam, Kanaksen Deka, Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Agradoot and Senior Journalist Dhirendranath Chakraborty were felicitated at the Panjabari and Kahilipara branches of the bank respectively. Speaking as the chief guest at the event presided over by Senior l Manager of North East, Nayanjyoti Das, the Senior Manager of North East briefed him about the contribution made by ICICI Bank authorities to the senior citizens and society.

 The senior official initially extended his greetings to journalists and media persons on the occasion of National Press Day. Bhupen Goswami, senior journalist and a national correspondent of the National Hindi daily cum in Associated with Agradoot Group of News paper who was also present on both the occasions, was specially welcomed.Manager of Panjabari Branch Jyetimoy Hazarika and Kahilipara Jatia Branch Manager Amol Dutta greeted both the great journalists of Assam with gamosa, seleng chadar sharai – japi and felicitation. Speaking on the occasion, Kanaksen Deka, Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Agradoot, spoke on journalism and super-journalism and thanked the bank authorities. Deka further said that if the media is the fourth pillar of democracy, if the media is speaking of its independence, then the media should also keep itself away from malpractices and illegal activities. Eminent journalist Dhirendranath Chakraborty in his brief speech pointed out that many do journalism with the aim of harming others. Such a trend is an ominous sign of the field of journalism. ICICI Bank Regional Manager Amit Dalmiya, Senior Citizen Vijay Krishna Dev Sharma and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
