Union Government today said that the recovery rate reached to 48.31 per cent in the country and the number of recovered people from Corona virus crossed the one lakh mark.
During the last 24 hour, 4,776 people have recovered and the total number of cured reached to one lakh 303.
Health and Family Welfare Ministry said 8,909 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the last 24 hour taking the total number of cases to 2,07,615 in the country.
This is the highest spike in new cases in one day since the outbreak of Corona pandemic in India.
During the last 24 hours, 217 deaths have been reported taking the nationwide toll to five thousand 815. The fatality rate is 2.80 per cent in India.
The Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said that a total 1,37,158 samples of Corona virus were tested in the last 24 hours.
With this, figure of total number of tests reached to 41,03,233 in the country.
ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for COVID-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories.
As of now, total 688 laboratories across India have been given approval to conduct the test for COVID-19 including 480 government laboratories and 208 private laboratories’ chains.
Health Ministry said that 952 dedicated COVID hospitals with 1, 66,332 isolation beds, 21,393 ICU beds and 72,762 oxygen supported beds are available in the country.
The Centre has also provided 1.25 crore N-95 masks and more than one crore Personal Protective Equipment, PPEs to the States and Union Territories.
