Kochi: OPPO has launched its new F35 5G smartphone, setting a World Records Union record for the world’s largest group selfie. The record-breaking feat saw film actor Saniya Iyappan take a selfie with 1,500 students during a campus launch event at SCMS Engineering College, Karukutty. The achievement surpassed the previous record of 1,151 participants, demonstrating the device’s positioning as a “Group Selfie Expert.”
Designed to capture large groups with ease, the phone features a 50-megapixel ultra-wide natural selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view. Offering a zoom range of 0.6x to 2x, the camera allows users to fit more people into a single frame. The device also features a 50-megapixel main camera and advanced AI capabilities, including AI Portrait Retouching, AI Night Mode and AI Pop-out.
Another key highlight of the OPPO F35 5G is its 8,000mAh battery, designed to retain its performance for up to six years. The device supports 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge technology, which can charge the battery to 45% in just 30 minutes. It also supports reverse wired charging.
The smartphone features a 120Hz ultra-bright AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. Its ultra-narrow 1.67mm bezels contribute to its premium design. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max processor, the device is designed to deliver smooth performance across everyday tasks and demanding applications. For enhanced thermal management during gaming and other intensive tasks, the phone incorporates a 4,300mm² SuperCool VC system. AI LinkBoost 4.0 is designed to improve connectivity, while IP69K-rated water and dust resistance and military-grade shock resistance provide added durability.
The OPPO F35 5G is available in three colour options: Wave Blue, Titanium Grey and Mist Pink. At the launch event, OPPO officials received the World Records Union certificate and a memento from the organisation’s representative, Christopher Taylor Craft.
