New Delhi: Over 18 crore Ayushman Cards have been issued under Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana ( AB- PMJAY ) so far. The scheme is being implemented to provide health cover to the people.
Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in a tweet said that the scheme has proved to be a boon for the poor people. He said, under the scheme, more than 3 crore 20 lakh people have availed the benefit of hospital facilities, and hospital admission amount to 37 thousand 398 crore rupees
AB-PMJAY was launched on 23rd September 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an aim to provide health assurance of up to 5 lakh rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary healthcare hospitalizations.
