Mumbai: As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Oxford International India, a leading global education services provider, organised a Christmas contribution drive to support homeless children who are now under the care of Snehasadan. The initiative was rooted in compassion and aimed at addressing the essential nutritional, hygiene, and well-being needs of children from vulnerable backgrounds, in line with the organisation’s core value of Care.

Snehasadan is a Mumbai-based non-profit organisation that works closely with homeless and at-risk children, providing them with shelter, education, healthcare, and emotional support in a safe and nurturing environment. With Oxford International India’s teams working remotely across locations, employees came together virtually to support the initiative by ordering essential supplies through online platforms, which were delivered to the organisation’s Mumbai office. The HR team then brought these contributions together, visited Snehasadan, and spent time with the children while personally distributing the items, making the initiative a truly meaningful and shared experience.

The contributions included essential food grains and nutrition-focused items such as wheat flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil, lentils, and pulses, including toor dal, masoor dal, channa, and rajma, along with salt, tea, oral hygiene products like toothbrushes and toothpaste, and basic toiletries. These items were carefully selected to promote balanced nutrition, hygiene, and overall well-being for the children. The HR team coordinated the collection of all items and subsequently visited Snehasadan to personally hand over the contributions and spend time with the children.

The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, and Reduced Inequalities, reflecting Oxford International India’s commitment to responsible and purpose-driven community engagement.

Commenting on the initiative, Ms Pooja Vaswaney, Employee Experience Partner, Oxford International India, said, “At Oxford International India, we believe that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. This Christmas contribution drive was a collective and heartfelt effort by our employees to support homeless children and ensure access to nutritious food and essential care. Initiatives like these reflect our core value of ‘Care’ and our commitment to giving back to society in ways that create lasting value.”

The visit and interaction with the children made the initiative deeply fulfilling for the team, reinforcing Oxford International India’s belief that meaningful impact is created when empathy, collaboration, and responsibility come together.
