Kokrajhar: The Peoples’ Democratic Movement for Boroland (PDMB) welcomes the Govt of India’s initiative to resume peace dialogue with the National Democratic Front of Boroland ceasefire factions (NDFB-P and NDFB-R) by which the present BJP government is showing its good gesture of political will to find an amicable settlement of the 89 years old Boroland imbroglio.
Addressing Reporters at a Pressmeet in Kokrajhar today, PDMB president Jebra Ram Muchahary said the organization since its inception has been supporting the ongoing peace talk between the NDFB (P), NDFB (R), the Government of India and the Government of Assam and It has been closely observing the Centre’s attitude towards finding an amicable settlement of the long pending Boroland issue.
Express its concern over the Government of India’s policy towards the NDFB (S) faction, the organization appeal the government of India to take proactive role to bring the NDFB (S) faction too for peace initiative to facilitate to resolve the Boroland issue inclusively involving all the NDFB factions and other stake holders collectively for the sake of peaceful settlement of the Boroland issue once for all.
He also said that if the Govt of India and NDFB (S) feel it appropriate, PDMB is ready to facilitate the peace initiative between them for the best interest of lasting peace in the region since this has become a serious threat to peace, unity, development and national security as a whole.
Reiterating its standing resolution to extend full support and cooperation to all the stake holders of the Boroland Movement for its long standing demand of a separate state of Boroland under the article 2 & 3 of the Indian Constitution, Muchahary said they appreciate Govt Of India for taking step to find an amicable settlement for the best interest of Unity, Peace and Prosperity of all sections of people living in the proposed Boroland.
The PDMB also strongly resolved to express its serious concern over few self styled groups of individuals and so called organizations who are misleading the peace loving common masses on the present status of the Peace-talk on the Boroland issue and desperately trying to create chaotic law and order deteriorating situations by their cooked up rumors for their narrow, selfish and ulterior motives threatening not only lives and properties of the peace loving bonafide citizens of the Boroland but also conspiring to destabilize the age old bond of brotherhood and peaceful co-existence among different sections of the people.
“PDMB strongly condemns these unchecked ugly designs of misleading rumors and subsequent deliberate hatred campaigns carried out by those perpetrators who are identified not only to be anti peace process but also anti-Indigenous Peoples of Boroland, Muchahary said and appeals all not to be misguided and instigated by those vested interest groups to derail the on-going peace-dialogue but to come forward to extend their full support and cooperate to ensure their equal rights, status and opportunities irrespective of caste, creeds and religion for faster growth and speedy development for all and for the best interest of unity, peace and prosperity among all sections of the people.
