Plastindia Foundation Welcomes the Union Budget; Calls It Growth-Oriented and Industry-Enabling

New Delhi February 1, 2026 Plastindia Foundation, the apex body representing the Indian plastics industry, has welcomed the Union Budget presented by the Hon’ble Finance Minister, describing it as a balanced, forward-looking budget that supports economic growth, manufacturing competitiveness, and sustainability.
“The Budget’s strong emphasis on infrastructure development, manufacturing, MSME support, ease of doing business, and skilling will have a positive multiplier effect on the plastics and downstream industries, which are integral to sectors such as packaging, agriculture, healthcare, construction, and mobility.The Union Budget reflects a clear commitment to strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem. Measures aimed at boosting domestic production, encouraging innovation, and enhancing infrastructure will significantly benefit the plastics industry, which plays a vital role in enabling growth across multiple sectors of the economy,” said Mr.Ravish Kamath, President, PlastIndia Foundation.

Mr. Kamath further noted that continued focus on MSMEs, access to credit, and technology upgradation will help Indian plastic processors enhance competitiveness in both domestic and global markets.
