Bhopal: Prime Minister  Narendra Modi has said that Madhya Pradesh government is committed to the welfare of the farmers. Today, Rs 1,600 crores are being transferred in the accounts of more than 35 lakh farmers, without any middlemen or cuts in between. It has become possible due to the system created in India in past 5-6 years, which is being applauded across the world. Kisan Credit Cards are being provided to the farmers and now farmers are getting easy capital for the agriculture works.

Today, cold storage, warehouse and other agriculture related infrastructure has also been inaugurated which will prove beneficial for farmers. Every year crops, vegetables and fruits worth Rs 1 lakh crore are destroyed due to lack of storage in the country. We are now focussing creating infrastructure for agriculture, wide spread cold storage and storage network.

PM  Modi said the three farm laws are beneficial and important for the development of agriculture. These laws should have been enacted 25-30 years ago, but previous governments only mentioned these in their manifestos but never implemented them. Agriculture reforms laid down by the Swami Nathan committee were brushed aside by the previous governments, but our governments have implemented them.

However, when our government enacted them, farmers are being misled. Farmers should understand this and should not be misinformed or misled. Our intentions are as pious as holy Ganga and Narmada rivers. Every step taken by us is in welfare of farmers.

PM  Modi addressed more than 50 lakh farmers through virtual medium in the Kisan Maha Sammelan organised at Raisen.

CM  Shivraj Singh Chouan transferred Rs 1,600 crores in the accounts of 35.5 lakh farmers of the state. In the same program agriculture infrastructure works worth Rs 70 crore were inaugurated too. 2,000 fishermen and cattle farmers were provided with Kisan Credit Cards on the occasion.

Agriculture Minister  Kamal Patel, Health Minister  Prabhuram Choudhary and Member of Parliament VD Sharma were also present.

Promise on debt waiver was not fulfilled

PM Modi said promise of debt waiver made by the previous government was not fulfilled. Instead the farmers got bank notices and arrest warrants. Opposition is now standing against the reforms and is spreading misinformation.

No shortage of Urea

PM Modi said our government is now providing ample Urea to farmers. Closed fertiliser units are being re-started with erection of new modern fertiliser plants. We are making farmers now energy providers along with food providers. Cost efficient solar pumps are being installed in the farms. We are taking care of cattle-rearers, pisciculture, and bee farmers.

There is no bigger lie than MSP being closed

PM  Modi said the opposition is spreading wrong information on MSP system being shut down. There can be no lie bigger than this. In previous government MSP for wheat was Rs 1,400 per quintal now it is Rs 1, 975 per quintal, Rs 1,310 per quintal for paddy now Rs 1,870. Rs 1,520 for Jowar now Rs 2,640, Rs 1,950 for Lentil now Rs 5,100, Rs 3,100 for Gram now Rs 5,100, Rs 4,300 for Toor now Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,500 for Moong now Rs 7,200 per quintal.

Spending Rs 5000 crore for modernising Mandis

PM said that the second biggest lie is that Mandis will be closed. It has been six months since the farm laws were implemented but not a single Mandi has been closed in the country. We are making APMCs stronger and robust with Rs 5000 crores. The talks about closing APMC is wrong.

Farm laws safeguard farmers

The new laws on contract farming have empowered farmers and are there to safeguard farmer’s interest. We have ensured that under the new laws the agreement maker cannot escape his responsibility. The sponsor or other party who makes agreement with farmers has to pay heavy penalty to farmer if he ends contract whereas farmer can end the contract from his side without any penalty.  It is up to farmer to enter into an agreement or not. The new strict regulations are for sponsors and not the farmers.

Farmers of the state  with PM Modi

CM  Shivraj Singh Chouhan said farmers of the state are with PM Modi and extend greetings for implementing the new farm laws. PM  Modi is the biggest pro-farmer leader. Doubling farmers income is his resolve. Kisan Credit Card is a gift of PM  Modi to the farmers as loans worth around Rs 2 lakh crore is being provided with subsidy.

Farmers now at their will

CM  Chouhan said the new farm laws have made farmers independent and their own will to deal or not to deal. They can now sell their produce at their will, anywhere. Ending stock limit will lead to more procurement with farmers getting more benefit.

Benefits worth Rs 82,000 crore provided to farmers in MP

CM  Chouhan said our government has deposited Rs 8,640 crores as crop insurance premium of 2019 Kharif and Rabi in past 8 months. Rs 6,815 crore have been deposited in accounts of farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Rs 35,000 crore MSP procurement of Wheat, paddy, gram and other crops. Rs 14,408 crore towards electricity subsidy. In past 8 months Rs 82,422 crore have been deposited in accounts of farmers under different schemes. We are committed to make agriculture a business of profit, the CM said. Crop damage compensation worth Rs 4,500 crores will be given to farmers of which first instalment was given today.

More than lakh farmers participated

At district level around 1,000 farmers participated virtually while at every gram panchayat around 200 farmers participated virtually. Madhya Pradesh has 23,000-gram panchayats. Around 1.11 crore people had pre-registered for the event at the website. At the end farmers supported PM  Modi with raised hands. CM  Chouhan presented vote of thanks to everyone.
