Kokrajhar: As part of the Griha Pravesh Samaroh 2022, three newly constructed houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) scheme were inaugurated today at a ceremonial programme held at Kokrajhar ward No 8 Hatimatha area under Kokrajhar Municipal Board and Kokrajhar Development Board in Kokrajhar on Thursday.
Chairperson, Kokrajhar Municipal Board Pratibha Brahma inaugurated the houses in the presence of Circle officer Rahul Phukan, Director Town and Country Planning ward commissioners Biren Swargiary, Project Director PMAY-HFA Urban and ward commissioners.
The houses have been constructed with an amount of Rs. 3 lakh, out of which Rs. 2 lakh was released to the beneficiary under PMAY-U and the remaining Rs 1 lakh was borne by the beneficiary.
According to officials, of the total 3424 beneficiaries, 1816 houses were completed under the scheme in Kokrajhar.
Chairperson of Kokrajhar Municipal Board Pratibha Brahma said inauguration of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban in Kokrajhar Municipal Board areas are going on. She said the government has been playing an active role for timely completion of the houses and thus brought smiles on the faces of many needy families. She said underprivileged families were benefited by the scheme and expressed hope families who could not afford houses will be benefited by the schemes.
Beneficiaries of PMAY-U Rupabati Basumatary, Labati Daimary expresses their happiness and extended thankful to the government for enabling the houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) schemes.
