Kokrajhar: Kokrajhar police on Thursday carried out a search operation at the house of Ex-BLT Welfare Society chairman Janamohan Muchahary’s house situated at Sudempuri in Kokrajhar.
The search operation was led by Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Roushan and Additional SP Mukut Rabha. The operation which started around 1pm lasted for 3 hours. Muchchary was at the house when the raid took place.
The raid at Ex-BLT Welfare Society chairman’s house came a day after huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from a Scorpio vehicle at Nasraibil area under Saraibil border outpost of Gossaigaon police station in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday evening. 6 (six) persons have been apprehended in connection with the arms and ammunition case.
Confirming the development, Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Roushan said the search operation was carried out in connection with arms recovery case. He said some important documents were recovered from the house. He said they cannot divulge more details as investigation is still going on.
Ex-BLT Welfare Society chairman Janamohan Muchahary meanwhile said he is cooperating with the police in the search operation.
