Bhopal: Additional Chief Electoral Officer Shri Arun Kumar Tomar informed that polling for by-elections was held today in 28 assembly constituencies of 19 districts in the state in total security while keeping Covid-19 guidelines in mind. The process of mock poll took place before polling in the presence of agents of the candidates. As many as 63 control units, 65 ballot units and 196 VVPATs were found defective during the mock poll.
Polling began at 7 am, 29 ballot units, 23 control units and 88 VVPATs damaged during polling were replaced.
The average voting percentage recorded in 28 assembly constituencies of the state till 9 am was 11.67. As of 11 am, the average voting percentage was 26.57 which became 42.71 percent till 1 pm.
