QR678® Receives DASIL 2026 Award for Pioneering Innovations in Hair Science and Regenerative Medicine
Kochi : QR678®, an Indian-origin translational hair science and research platform, has been honoured with the DASIL Award for Pioneering Innovations in Hair Science and Regenerative Medicine at the 14th DASIL World Congress, held in Kochi, Kerala, from October 22 to 24, 2026.
Organised by the Dermatologic & Aesthetic Surgery International League (DASIL), the World Congress is one of the most reputed global conferences in aesthetics and regenerative medicine and brings together professionals across dermatology, aesthetic medicine and surgery for scientific exchange, clinical discussions and engagement with developments in medical practice.
The recognition was received by Mr. Indrajit Dutta, Senior Vice President, QR678®, alongside members of the QR678 scientific, medical and leadership teams, marking an important milestone in the platform’s journey from Indian clinical research to international scientific recognition.
Commenting on the recognition, Mr. Indrajit Dutta, Senior Vice President, QR678®, said, “This award belongs to the scientists, doctors, researchers and colleagues who have contributed to building QR678 over the years. What began as an effort to understand the biological complexities of hair loss has grown into an international research and innovation platform. We are particularly proud that an Indian scientific initiative is being recognised among the international dermatology and aesthetic surgery community. For us, this recognition is not the culmination of our journey. It strengthens our responsibility to continue investing in research, scientific collaboration and innovation.”
The QR678® Platform was developed through the translational research efforts of a team of scientists and clinicians led by Dr. Rinky Kapoor and Dr. Debraj Shome, clinician-scientists and research mentors, whose work integrates clinical observations, molecular biology, biotechnology and regenerative medicine. The Platform’s approach follows a translational research philosophy: identifying important clinical problems, investigating their underlying biological mechanisms and developing scientifically evaluated approaches that may ultimately inform clinical practice.
Dr. Debraj Shome, Clinician-Scientist and Research Mentor,QR678® said, “Hair loss is not merely a cosmetic concern. It is actually an integral part of human identity. Hair Loss reflects complex interactions involving follicular stem cells, molecular signalling, ageing, inflammation and the surrounding cellular environment. Our research philosophy has been to move beyond individual treatments and understand the biology that determines whether follicles remain functional, become quiescent or progressively deteriorate. We believe the future of hair medicine lies in increasingly precise, biologically informed approaches.”
The platform’s awarded intellectual property portfolio includes three awarded global patents, alongside continuing international patent development and research collaborations. The QR678 evolving product portfolio includes QR678® X-PRO, QR678 NEO, QR678 PREO, QR678 ZEO and the home-care range of products including the serum, the shampoo and the nutraceuticals suite, representing distinct approaches within the broader hair and scalp science platform.
The QR678 research platform has contributed to scientific publications examining emerging questions in follicular biology and regenerative medicine. In 2026 alone, associated researchers completed a portfolio of 19 scientific papers and one patent award. Research topics include follicular stem-cell activation, cellular ageing, extracellular matrix biology, regenerative signalling, biomimetic approaches, exosomes, hair bioprinting and emerging technologies for follicular assessment.
Dr. Rinky Kapoor, Clinician-Scientist and Research Mentor,QR678® added, “The next generation of hair science will increasingly depend on understanding why two patients with apparently similar hair loss may have fundamentally different underlying biological mechanisms. Genomics, proteomics, follicular stem-cell biology and cellular senescence are opening important scientific questions. Our objective is to contribute to that evolving understanding through translational research and meaningful collaboration between laboratory investigators and practising clinicians.”
QR678’s development extends beyond individual formulations. The platform connects scientific publications, intellectual property, clinician education, international partnerships and ongoing investigations into the mechanisms governing hair follicle behaviour.
Its international footprint spans more than 36 published clinical papers in total, product approvals in 10+ countries, with an established network exceeding 5,000 doctors and historical engagement involving more than 150,000 patients. Three global patents have been awarded, while 25 more patent applications are under consideration worldwide.
