Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the inauguration of mega infrastructure projects today marks a turning point in Jammu and Kashmir’s development journey. Inaugurating the Chenab Bridge and Anji Khad Bridge in Katra, Mr Modi highlighted that the state-of-the-art Chenab bridge will improve connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar. He expressed happiness said that the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari is now connected with the railway network. Prime Minister said the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line Project is a symbol of a new, empowered Jammu and Kashmir and a resounding proclamation of India’s growing strength. He asserted that the Chenab and Anji Bridges will serve as gateways to prosperity for Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Modi also said that India will not bow to terrorism. The Prime Minister added that, unfortunately, our neighbouring country is against humanity and even the livelihood of the poor. He cited the incident in Pahalgam on 22 April as an example. Mr. Modi said Pakistan attacked both insaniyat and Kashmiriyat in Pahalgam, targeting the tourism sector that provides livelihood to many Kashmiri families. He said that whenever Pakistan hears the name Operation Sindoor, it will be reminded of its shameful defeat. Mr Modi also said Operation Sindoor has shown the power of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the world is discussing India’s defence ecosystem. Mr Modi urged people to resolve to prioritise goods that are Made in India, terming it a service to the nation.
Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects worth over 46 thousand crore rupees. He emphasised that the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line Project is not just a name but a symbol of Jammu and Kashmir’s new strength and a testament to India’s growing capabilities. He also flagged off Vande Bharat Trains, enhancing connectivity within Jammu and Kashmir. Mr Modi also laid the foundation stone for a new medical college in Jammu, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare facilities in the region. The Prime Minister extended his best wishes and congratulated the people on this new era of growth and transformation.
