Mumbai: Rajiv Vijaykar won for Best Book on Cinema at the 69th National Film Awards, held in New Delhi on October 17, 2023 at the Vigyan Bhawan. The book is MUSIC BY LAXMIKANT-PYARELAL, THE INCREDIBLY MELODIOUS JOURNEY, published by Rupa Publications.
Rajiv received the award from the Hon. President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, in the presence of Shri Anurag Thakur, Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth & Sports Affairs. It consisted of the Swarna Kamal and a Citation.
Rajiv is a Mumbai-based film journalist, author and critic for over three decades, writing for various Indian and American publications and websites, and has also been on the 58th and 62nd National Film Awards Jury. This is his fourth book after The History of Indian Film Music (2010). Dharmendra: Not Just A He-Man (2018) and Main Shayar Toh Nahin (2019).
