Ramkumar Ramanathan Triumphs Over Top Seed in ATP Challenger Bengaluru, Advances to Quarterfinals

Bengaluru: India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan staged an impressive comeback, overcoming top seed Luca Nardi of Italy to reach the singles quarter finals of the ATP Challenger Bengaluru Tennis Open 2024. In the second round clash, despite losing the opening set, Ramkumar utilized his powerful serves to secure a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory in an hour and a half at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) Stadium’s Centre Court. In other matches, Poland’s Maks Kasnikowski upset fourth seed Benjamin Bonzi of France 6-3, 6-4 in the second round while another Indian player SD Prajwal Dev suffered a 3-6, 0-6 loss against fifth seed Adam Walton of Australia in the first-round encounter.
