Hyderabad, 19 October, 2023 – With the much-anticipated Dussehra festival just around the corner, redBus, the world’s largest online bus ticketing platform, is witnessing a surge in bus ticket bookings in the Andhra – Telangana region. Ahead of the festival, redBus has recorded a significant 40% increase in ticket bookings, 14 days in advance, reflecting the growing demand for travel during this festive holiday season.
As the holiday fervour grips the state capital, Bapatla, Machilipatnam & Ramoji Film City are the top leisure destinations Hyderabadis are heading for. Tirupati, Srisailam and Annavaram are the top religious destinations favoured this season. Hyderabad also serves as a significant outbound travel hub during Dussehra, contributing to more than 40% of both interstate and intrastate travel. A staggering 3.2 lakh people are expected to travel per day, during the festive period. After Hyderabad, highest outbound intra-state traffic comes from Vijaywada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Guntur, Nellore, Ongole, Rajahmundry, Kakinada & Kurnool.
