Mumbai : Revenant XSpark creator Shagufta “XYAA” Iqbal has made her in-game debut in Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen as an Official Pawn, allowing players around the world to recruit her as a companion and take her along on their adventures as the title launches globally today, October 9.

The collaboration brings XYAA into a major international gaming franchise from Capcom, the Japanese gaming giant behind Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry and Mega Man, marking a significant crossover for Indian gaming talent on the global stage.

In the Dragon’s Dogma universe, Pawns are AI-controlled companions who travel alongside players, assist them in combat and form a core part of the gameplay experience. XYAA’s Official Pawn will be available through the game’s Rift system for players worldwide to recruit into their parties.

Her Official Pawn has been created across four different levels: 8, 20, 30 and 50, with her appearance, equipment and abilities evolving at each stage. XYAA remains an Archer across all four versions, an interesting connection to her own background in competitive shooter games. Her character progresses from a relatively simple early-game appearance to a more elaborate armoured version at Level 50.

The collaboration is part of Capcom’s Official Pawn programme, which brings personalities from different parts of the world into the game. Indian gaming creator BeastBoyShub is also part of the initiative, alongside international creators.

XYAA’s inclusion represents a notable evolution in how Indian gaming creators are working with global publishers. While such collaborations have traditionally centred around game promotions, livestreams and branded content, XYAA is now part of the gameplay experience itself, with players across international markets able to interact with her digital character.

It marks one of the first such integrations involving Indian gaming creators in a major globally released gaming title, signalling a new kind of opportunity for India’s growing gaming and creator ecosystem.

Shagufta “XYAA” Iqbal, Creator at Revenant XSpark, said: “Gaming has been such a big part of my life for more than a decade, so seeing a version of myself actually become part of a game from Capcom feels surreal. I’ve gone from playing games, competing professionally and creating content around them to now having players around the world able to take my Pawn along on their own adventures. That makes this incredibly personal for me. I also hope seeing an Indian woman represented in a global gaming experience like this encourages more women and creators from India to see just how far a career in gaming can take them.”

The milestone builds on XYAA’s journey spanning more than a decade in gaming. She began with Counter-Strike 1.6 in 2011, went on to compete across titles including Valorant and represented India internationally in esports. In 2023, she secured a top-four finish for India at the World Esports Championship and was later the only woman from esports nominated for the National Creators Award.

Rohit Jagasia, CEO, Revenant XSpark, said: “For years, Indian gaming creators have helped international publishers connect with audiences in India. What makes this collaboration particularly special is that XYAA is now becoming part of a global gaming experience that players across the world can engage with. It reflects how far Indian gaming talent has come and how opportunities are expanding beyond traditional content and promotional partnerships. Seeing XYAA become part of a globally recognised Capcom franchise is a proud moment for us and an encouraging development for the wider Indian gaming ecosystem.”

The collaboration coincides with the global launch of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on October 9. The release expands Capcom’s open-world action RPG with a new storyline set in the snow-covered northern region of Norgan, new enemies and encounters, 12 additional dungeon challenges and expanded character customisation.

The Dragon’s Dogma franchise debuted in 2012 and has surpassed 14 million units in cumulative global sales as of March 31, 2026, establishing a sizeable international player base for the series.

For Revenant XSpark, XYAA’s collaboration with Capcom reflects its broader focus on creating opportunities for gaming talent beyond conventional esports and influencer campaigns. Since its inception in 2021, RNTX has expanded across competitive esports, creators and talent, brand solutions, publisher partnerships, content and entertainment, and has worked with 400+ brands across sectors.

XYAA’s Official Pawn represents the next step in that evolution, moving an Indian creator from collaborating around a global gaming IP to becoming part of the gaming experience itself.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches globally on October 9, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
