Kokrajhar: Atleast three people were killed and six others seriously injured in two separate road mishaps in Kokrajhar in the last 24 hours.
Two persons were killed at Balajan Tiniali Laoriprara area under Kokrajhar police station in the district last late evening. According to sources, there was head on collision between a scooty and Royal Enfield bullet killing two on the spot and injuring two others.The deceased were identified as Rujum Basumatary, 27, a railway employees and Birdao Mushahary (28).
The injured persons are identified as Punam Basumatary and Karanjit Basumatary. They were admitted to kokrajhar Rupnath Brahma Civil hospital.
In separate incident at Titaguri under Kokrajhar police station, one person was killed and two others were injured when the bikes they were riding collided with a pickup van this morning around 9 am. Sources said the three youths in a bike were on way to Baukungri festival when it collision with the pickup van. The decease was identified as Dengkgw Basumatary. The injured were identified as Mwikhwm Basumatary and Kanon Goyary. All in their 20s.
In yet another road mishap at Hatimatha (Mwiderkhoro) in Kokrajhar town this afternoon, two persons were seriously injured.
