New Delhi: The Supreme Court granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in alleged liquor excise policy scam on Tuesday. In a joint statement, a bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Dipankar Datta, and Justice Prasanna B Varale said Mr Singh could be released during pendency of the trial. The court said he can now participate in political activities during the period of bail. However, he can not make any public statement on the ED’s investigation. The court also said the terms and conditions of the release are to be fixed by the trial court.
The AAP leader was arrested in October last year and sent to Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
