Mangaldai: Along with the rest of the nation the National Science Day has been observed by the faculties and trainee teachers of the government teachers’ training college here on February 28 . In the open session presided over by the principal of the institution Dr Mahidra Kaur , demonstrator of the institution Mahibul Islam delivered the keynote address on the significance of the this year’s National Science Day theme “ Integrated approach in science and technology for sustainable future “ .
Several faculties and trainees including Tapan Kr Sarma , Hemanta Kr Tamuli , Dr Gitika Sahariah , Papori Nath , Nilakshi Patowary , Karabi Bhattacharjee , Harekrishna Deka, Basanta Kalia , Mukut Ali and others spoke on the relevance of celebrating the day which related to the discovery of “ Raman effect “ by none other sir C.V. Raman , the Nobel laureate in Physics . Principal Dr Kaur while addressing from the chair emphasized on sensitizing scientific temperament among the masses. The session anchored by trainee Akhil Ranjan Bhatta ended with the vote of thanks by trainee Dipak Kr Deka . It was followed by a community science quiz . The daylong celebration earlier began in the morning with an awareness procession .
