Kokrajhar: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief executive member Pramod Boro on Monday inaugurated the Bodoland School Adoption Programme at a ceremonial programme held at BTC Assembly Auditorium in Kokrajhar.
The programme is aimed at bringing transformational change in the education system in the five districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Tamulpur and Udalguri in BTR.
In the first phase 500 schools-100 in each district were adopted by bureaucrats, government officials, educationists, social workers.
BTC chief executive member Pramod Boro said the primary objective of Bodoland School Adoption Programme is to convert rural/remote schools and urban Govt schools into Models schools that would ensure better infrastructure, quality education & improved academic performance.
Pramod Boro said that transforming the School Education system in BTR has been one of their major goals ever since the Government assumed office. Boro called on everyone to adopt schools and help students of government and aided schools to stay motivated and dream big to transform the state’s educational system.
The mentors adopting schools can arrange coaching classes for certain subjects, career counselling sessions, tie-ups, inspirational talks and cash awards to motivate the students.
BTC Assembly Speaker Katiram Boro, executive members Reoreoa Narzihary, Arup Kumar Dey were among those present on the occasion.
