Security forces unearth cache of arms dump in Kupwara

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces unearthed a cache of arms dump in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district yesterday.

A Senior Police Officer said that based on a reliable input, a joint search operation was launched by Kupwara Police and Army’s 6 RR in Keran village and forest areas along the LoC. During the combing operation large quantities of arms and ammunition were recovered from a weapons dump.

The recovery includes 5 AK-47 Rifles, 15 AK Magazines, 443 AK Rounds, 2 UBGL, 57 UBGL Grenades,  Six 9mm Pistols, Twelve 9mm Pistol Magazines, Seventy Seven 9mm Pistol Rounds, Two AK Sling and 15 Hand Grenades. An FIR under the Explosives Substances Act has been registered in Police Station Keran.
