New Delhi: The Sensex and the Nifty today closed with modest gains of 0.2 percent led by banking sector stocks. Domestic stocks appreciated amid mixed global cues.
The Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange gained 98 points to close at 51,115. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange also added 36 points to settle at 15,338.
