Slowing COVID-19 speed, decline in infection rate

GUWAHATI : The rate of infection has also improved in Assam. In view of the improvement in the positivity rate, the Assam Government has relaxed the restrictions. The partial curfew has been extended from 6 pm to 5 am in the state. The order will come into effect from 5 am on August 10 across the state.The rate of infection in Assam is 2.93 per cent. There are currently 9,712 active cases in the state while 5,57,654 patients have recovered from the infection. According to pti news agency, 568 more people were found infected with corona in Assam on Sunday, raising the number of people infected in the state to 5,74,100 so far. The death toll in the state has risen to 5,387 after the death of 15 more infected people. The National Health Mission said that 1,347 more patients of Covid-19 have died but it is yet to be included in the total death toll. Officials say the patients were also suffering from other diseases.According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, active cases in the country have come down to 4,02,188, which is 1.27 per cent of the total cases. There has been a decline of 4,634 patients in active cases in the last 24 hours. According to the Ministry, the recovery rate in the country is 97.39 per cent and the death rate is 1.34 per cent. A total of 3,11,39,457 people have overcome the infection in the country so far. Testing tracking and treatment work is underway in the fight against corona. A total of 48,17,67,232 samples have been tested corona so far. Out of these, 13,71,871 samples were tested on Sunday. Immunization work is also progressing at a rapid pace in the country.
