GUWAHATI : On Wednesday, Assam Rifles personnel were killed in a shootout by suspected NSCN (IM) cadre near Sanleem village in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh. The militants attacked security forces once again on Wednesday morning in Tirap district, bordering Myanmar. Sources said the incident occurred around 6.30 am when a convoy of 9 Assam Rifles was hit by a heavy bullet. However, the Assam Rifles are yet to disclose the identity of the martyr soldier. For a long time in northeast India, the government and security forces have been working together to restore peace. There was also an atmosphere of peace here for a long time. But, suddenly the militants in Tengmo village of Changlang district carried out the incident. It is about 400 km from Ita Nagar, the capital of Sanlim village in Tirap district.Apart from this, the terrorists are trying their best to enter India through the Indo-Myanmar route. Security forces have surrounded the entire area and started a search operation. It is said that the militants were sitting ambush. “Every year, during winter, they try to enter India due to the severe cold and lack of ration in the Myanmar forest,”Sources said. Police said that Tirap is one of the disturbed areas in Arunachal Pradesh as militants are allegedly forcing locals to support them in hiding.
